Jean-Claude Ellena has been making his mark on the landscape of French Haute Parfumerie for over fifty years. Its meteoric rise is based on a style of rare elegance, an olfactory signature with a subtle blend of purity and precision. After his long years spent in olfactory creation at Hermès, Jean-Claude Ellena chooses his collaborations sparingly. He speaks of LE COUVENT as a crush, a story of encounters, exchanges, and points of attachment: noble materials, singularity and naturalness.
When Jean Claude Ellena talks about perfume, he talks about places that inspire her. Memories, recomposed memories thanks to smells. To compose a perfume is to write a story. A narration that takes the wearer elsewhere. Choosing a perfume is much more than a smell that you like or not. It is an evocation, a story capable of telling who we are or who we would have liked to be. It is also taking the time to discover, to appropriate the perfume, to give yourself the time, to breathe and to be inspired.
